Well, there were a lot of comments both positive and negative about AmericInn as a playing site for our Friday game.
Whether we end up there or not, we want to thank the AmericInn for offering us the opportunity to use the site. Next time I want to unload a relative, I’m sending them to the AmericInn.
Betty and Barbara went to the OK City sectional last weekend and earned enough Silver points for Barbara to attain the next level on the ACBL ranking scale. Congrats, Barbara!
Congratulations to Julie Patterson who recently achieved the rank of Bronze Life Master.
Way to go, Julie!
Extra, Extra, Extra!!! Our Sectional Tournament will be held March 7 & 8 at the Catholic Church. Click the link to see the schedule.
Sadly, I must report to you the loss of our friend, Marcharelle Jordan. Because her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 21 and many of you will be attending, we are cancelling that day’s bridge game.
As one who believes in celebrating a person’s life rather than mourning their loss, I encourage all of you to raise your glasses and drink a toast to a very fine lady. Marcharelle, we shall truly miss you!
We’ve been told we can no longer use the Country Club for our Friday game, so we’re looking for a place to play. We have about 3 weeks to find a place.
If any of you know of somewhere we could play every Friday, please call Linda and let her know. If nothing else comes up, we’ll contact the Stipe Center and see if we can use it again.
What a day at McAlester bridge! Those of you who didn’t play missed some fantastic hands. Lots of long suits, voids, slam and competitive decisions.
….And, no, Linda didn’t deal the hands…
Welcome to 2009…and the first game of the year will be held at noon on Friday, Jan 2 at the Epicopal church.
